Enjoy the Private Infrared Sauna

Estudio de Masajes is always looking for ways to elevate your wellbeing and enhance the results of every treatment. One of the most effective ways to prepare your body for deeper healing is through our private infrared sauna, a warm, quiet space designed to relax muscles, calm the mind, and prime your body for massage therapy.

Infrared saunas work differently from traditional steam or dry saunas. Instead of heating the air, they use gentle infrared wavelengths that penetrate the skin more deeply, warming your tissues from within. This creates a uniquely soothing experience that offers therapeutic benefits even at lower temperatures.

Below, we explore why an infrared sauna session is one of the best things you can do before receiving a massage.

1. Deep Muscle Relaxation for a More Effective Massage
One of the biggest advantages of infrared heat is its ability to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia. When your muscles are already softened and warm, your massage therapist can work more effectively.
Instead of spending the first part of your massage warming up your tissues, your body arrives *ready*.

2. Improved Circulation and Oxygen Flow
Infrared heat naturally increases blood circulation.
Better circulation means your massage is able to stimulate healing more rapidly and with longer-lasting results.

3. Amplified Detoxification Benefits
Sweating in an infrared sauna can help the body release toxins stored in the skin and tissues, such as heavy metals and environmental pollutants. Combined with massage—which stimulates the lymphatic system—this can lead to a noticeable sense of lightness, clarity, and renewal. Many clients describe feeling “reset” both physically and mentally after pairing the two treatments.

4. Reduced Pain, Tension, and Inflammation
Infrared heat is known for its gentle yet effective ability to:
* Reduce chronic muscle pain
* Ease joint stiffness
* Soothe inflammation
* Support recovery from exercise or long hours of sitting
When you follow your sauna session with a massage, these effects are amplified, making it ideal for people with chronic pain, tight shoulders, lower-back tension, or sports-related stiffness.

5. Nervous System Calm Before Your Massage
Massage works best when your body is receptive. The soothing warmth of the infrared sauna naturally encourages:
* Lower stress levels
* Slower breathing
* Reduced anxiety
* A parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) state
You enter your massage already calm, centred, and more emotionally present—creating a deeper therapeutic experience.

6. Enhanced Skin Health and Glow

Infrared heat increases circulation to the surface of the skin and stimulates natural collagen activity. This helps:
* Improve skin tone and texture
* Support elasticity
* Give your complexion a healthy, post-sauna glow
Pairing this with a massage boosts lymphatic flow, making your skin appear fresher and more vibrant.

Book your infrared sauna add-on and feel the transformative difference it makes.

What is A

Swedish Massage

It is the most commonly practised massage therapy and offers you a wonderful relaxing and rejuvenating experience.

Swedish Massage Techniques

  • Effleurage – a type of gentle stroking, including long strokes.
  • Petrissage – what you think of when muscles are kneaded.
  • Vibration – includes light tapping and other techniques which can cause the body to lightly shake or vibrate.
  • Hacking – includes the karate-style ‘chops’ you may also associate with massage.

Difference between Thai and Swedish massage

Thai massage often doesn’t use oils and is usually done on the floor, rather than on a table. The recipient remains clothed while the therapist helps them into assisted yoga positions to stretch and relax the body. It’s more vigorous and sometimes focuses on acupressure points.

The goal of Swedish Massage

Improve your circulation and promote relaxation through soothing your muscles. The techniques involve soft strokes over areas which are more prone to pain, or without much muscle coverage. Where the muscles are thicker, the pressure is changed and the massage is deeper.

How to prepare for a Massage

Before you arrive, it’s good if you can have a warm shower and leave plenty of time to get here as you won’t want to start your massage feeling unnecessarily rushed or stressed. Avoid having a heavy meal or drinking alcohol before your massage.
